Zoning
Colfax Township does NOT have its own Zoning ordinance; HOWEVER, Building Permits are still required and must be obtained from the County Building department in Hart. There IS zoning along the Pere Marquette River that is handled by Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

Natural River Zoning
The Michigan DNR does have zoning along the Pere Marquette River.

Land Division
In order to divide a tract of land, you must fill out a Land division application with the Township Assessor, Barbie Eaton.
You must include the current parcel description and the resulting descriptions after the division.
